Network Analysis in Boston, MA


In this analysis of networks in Boston riders and walkers can see what areas can be explored by simply a 5-minute walk or a 10-minute walk from a hub-way. The Map below represents an area covered by a 5-minute walking radius and a 10-minute radius surrounding hub-ways within the Boston borders. The map below is another form of network analysis containing Libraries in the vicinity of a Boston Public School. The table below also represents the schools that are within the vicinity of a library branch. The data shows that the number of schools within a library can range from 1 to 9 schools per library.

The data was collected from the Living Atlas of the Wolrd, which is a dynamic collection of maps, scenes, data layers, imagery, analytics, and apps from the ArcGIS community. The data of that was used for the network analysis in Boston was used by tools as well to enrich the data to reveal patterns, answers, and relationships about the Boston community. ArcGIS online is a place to explore data by others who have published data and maps in order to access and recreate different geographic analysis as shown below. 

The map below is a map of the areas in Boston that surround a nearby hub-way station within a 5 to 10-minute walk. 

 The map below shows the locations of libraries that are near Boston Public Schools and what schools are close enough to be assigned to that specific branch. 
The table below is data that was calculated to determine how many schools were in the vicinity of a certain branch. The table below will show how many schools per library.
